Dive or snorkel on spectacular coral reefs. Dive the Spiegel Grove! Spiegel Grove is a 510-foot Navy ship intentionally scuttled in June 2002 as the backbone for a new coral reef. This is the largest ship in the world to be sunk as an artificial reef. So far according to reputable authority more than 130 species of fish have been documented on this site!
Locals consider their home the diving capital of the world but the island is nearly as famous as a sport-fishing destination. Some of the best charter captains and fishing guides in the world work out of Key Largo. You can go after sailfish offshore, bonefish along the Atlantic shallows, or redfish and tarpon in Florida Bay.
In just minutes by boat, you can be off shore fishing for dolphin or just island hopping. If you like back country fishing, Everglades National Park is the way to go; it is practically in your back yard! In minutes you can be in some great hot fishing spots; such as Flamingo, home to Ten Thousand Islands.
